The Ultimate Man Crush Monday Is …

Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments!

Winning with 66.67 percent of the votes, Jace has been declared the ultimate Man Crush. With his fierce, golden eyes, Shadowhunter bod, and magical way with words it’s no surprise he’s the winner. I fell in love with Jace when I quickly read through the whole Mortal Instruments series these past few months and I still enjoy his way with words.

In a not so far off second place was, Maxon Schreave. Loveable, a little dorky, and now a hot dad, Maxon is totally crush-worthy and I’m surprised this final battle wasn’t closer. Maxon is also known for his excellent love quotes and sweeping women off their feet. He’s the kind of prince some girls dream about. If you haven’t checked him out in The Selection series yet you absolutely must. You’ll fall in love.

This wraps up my Man Crush Monday series. To learn more about what’ll be happening (or not happening) with MCMs and WCWs in the future just click the link for more information and stay tuned for the Woman Crush Wednesday face off.

Man Crush Monday Final Face Off

Yesterday you guys voted for part two of the Man Crush Monday face off and the winner with 100 percent of the votes is my favorite, Maxon Schreave from The Selection series. To learn more about Maxon check out the Man Crush Monday post I did for him.

As a refresher the winner of part one was Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments series. Therefore the final face off is between Maxon and Jace and I’m excited to see where this goes. I think these two both have big fan bases and I know I’d have a hard time trying to choose between the two.

If you’ve never heard of either of these characters and are wondering how your fave didn’t make it to the final round let me know who you think is the real Man Crush Monday in the comments.

Woman Crush Wednesday: Celeste Newsome

If you haven’t read The Selection series and don’t want to be spoiled stop reading here. Seriously. Don’t read any further. Got it? Good.

Although Celeste started as the girl to hate in the series she evolved into a girl that I respected and admired by the end of the series and I think almost everyone fan of the series can agree it was sad to see her go.

Besides that, however, when she did come around she became the champion of the Selection girls. Once she stopped seeing them as enemies and instead as friends she took that fierceness and used it for good, becoming one of my favorite characters. I especially loved her support for America and thought it was cute when she threatened Maxon, warning him not to break America’s heart. I wish more than anything that she hadn’t been murdered and we could’ve seen her grow up and be a staple in Princess Eadlyn’s (America and Maxon’s daughter) life. Unfortunately, that’s not the case but we can always reread The One, and imagine how Celeste would’ve brightened up America’s Women’s Room.

As we spoke, I could see [Celeste] being accepted by the others as fully as she was now by me. She even looked different with the weight of her secrets cast off from her. Celeste had been raised to be a specific kind of pretty. That beauty depended on covering things up, shifting the light, and seeking to be perfect at all times. But there is a different kind of beauty that comes with humility and honesty, and she was glowing with it now. – The One

Man Crush Monday: Maxon Schreave

If you couldn’t tell I’m really in a Selection mood this week. That’s mainly because the next book in the series, The Heir, comes out next week and I’m super excited. I won’t spoil the series for you but a brief synopsis of the series is it takes place in a Dystopian world where there are eight castes, one being the upper caste and eight being the lowest. The prince chooses his wife by going through the selection, a competition where 35 girls go to the castle to try and win the prince’s heart.

This week’s Man-Crush Monday is no other than the Prince himself, Prince Maxon. Maxon is cute, kind of dorky, and adorable in his lack of experience. He’s willing to put himself in harm’s way to protect others and really cares about his country and how he can make it better for all his castes. He also treats every girl in the selection with kindness and respect, and goes out of his way to make each one of them feel like they’re special.

If you read the Selection series, you’ll be hard pressed not to fall in love with Prince Maxon Schreave. Even Ms. America Singer finds it rather difficult to resist his charm. If you needed any reasons to read these books it would be Prince Maxon. He’s one of a kind.
