Hate It or Love It Week. 4

Back at it again. Here’s my opinion on the top 10 singles on iTunes right now. From now on I’ll only be doing this post every other week due to the fact that there tends to be a lot of repeats every week (for example no new songs this week). Here we go!

1. Dark Horse by Katy Perry ft. Juicy J

Prism_cover

My feelings for this song are very up and down. If I’m about to head out to the party I can dig it. If it comes up on my iTunes I tend to hit next. All in all I still like the song but I’m ready to hear something new from Katy.

2. Happy by Pharrell Williams

despicable-me-2-official-soundtrack-album-stream

Still like it. It’s a cute song to dance and do the “Carlton” to.

3. Timber by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha

Nope, nope, nope. A thousand times no. Just no. Hate it.

4. Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz

Jason-Derülo-Talk-Dirty-2013-1500x1500

I just can’t get behind this song. Something about Jason Derulo just irks me to my core. Do not like. At all. Except for the beat. The beat is good.

5. The Man by Aloe Blacc

the man

I still can’t believe I’ve never heard of this guy before. So good. Love him and this song. Awesome!

6. Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera

a-great-big-world-say-something-cover

As much as I hate to say this because I still really love this song it’s starting to be a little overplayed. I still love it but I need a break from hearing it. I can’t wait to hear A Great Big World’s next single though.

7. Pompeii by Bastille

Bastille-Pompeii-2013-1200x1200

I don’t hate this song but it’s not a really memorable one. I think it’s good but I’m actually surprised it’s still in the top 10. Good for them though.

8. Team by Lorde

lorde-team-600x600

Love it. Absolutely still love. I just love the lyrics and I must say I truly like Lorde’s vocals. I think she’s great and I love this song. You go girl!

9. Counting Stars by OneRepublic

220px-OneRepublic_Counting_Stars

Still love this song. I think One Republic killed it with the one. Not my all time favorite by them but definitely in my top five.

10. Let Her Go by Passenger

Let-her-go-by-passenger

Love it! I think this is a great song and I’m glad it’s still on the top 10. I can’t wait to here what he does next.

Below is all the singles for this week and don’t forget to vote for your favorite.

Hate It or Love It Week. 3

There’s not much difference this week from last week (so boring!) but as promised here’s my Hate It or Love It for the week based on iTunes top 10 singles right now.

1. Dark Horse by Katy Perry ft. Juicy J

Prism_cover

As much as I love this song I think it’s time we retire this one. Katy it’s been real but I’m over this song. Next!

2. Timber by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha

Someone please explain to me the obsession with this song. I just don’t understand. I really don’t. Still hate it.

3. Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera

a-great-big-world-say-something-cover

Still love it. I think this is such a beautiful song. The lyrics, the music, and the vocals are just amazing. Currently playing on repeat. Love it!

4. Counting Stars by One Republic

220px-OneRepublic_Counting_Stars

I like it. It’s not a song I’m listening to on repeat or anything but when it comes on I don’t change it. Not my favorite One Republic song but definitely a good one.

5. Talk Dirty by Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz

Jason-Derülo-Talk-Dirty-2013-1500x1500

I have never been a fan of Jason Derulo, especially when he feels the need to say his name at the beginning of every single one of his songs. This song has not swayed my feelings. The only thing I like about this song is the beat. Definitely not a single I’ll be putting in my iTunes. Derulo needs to do better.

6. Happy by Pharrell Williams

despicable-me-2-official-soundtrack-album-stream

Love it! Okay, maybe I’m a little biased because I loved this movie but honestly something about this song just makes you feel, well, happy. It’s a nice beat you can do a cute little dance to and when I hear it I just think about the little minions dancing and it makes me smile. Adding to my music library right now and I am not ashamed. Clearly I’m not the only one that loves it either.

7. Team by Lorde

lorde-team-600x600

I still like it. I haven’t heard this song as often as I’ve heard “Royals” (but that might also be because I don’t listen to the radio that often). Either way, I haven’t heard it enough times to be sick of it yet. Definitely still one of my favorites on this list.

8. Pompeii by Bastille

Bastille-Pompeii-2013-1200x1200

I didn’t add this one to my iTunes library last week. Maybe I will this week. I still like it. Again, not my usual type of music but I think it’s a good song. Glad it’s still doing well.

9. Let Her Go by Passenger

Let-her-go-by-passenger

Love it! I am obsessed with this song. I could listen to it on repeat all day long. I just love the vocals on this song. Passenger, also known as Michael Rosenberg, is a great singer and I think this is such an emotional song and you can hear that in his voice. Fantastic!

10. The Monster by Eminem ft. Rihanna

Eminem-The-Monster-2013-1500x1500

I’m over this song. I’ve heard it too many times and I’m sick of it. I still think it’s a good song but I’m ready to hear Eminem’s next single. Let’s move on.

Below are all the songs of this week and don’t forget to vote for your favorite song.

Hate It or Love it Week. 2

Back again for another Hate It or Love It this week. As always I’ll be taking a look at iTunes top 10 singles for the week (or really the current moment that I check it) and saying whether I hate it or love. Here we go.

1. Dark Horse by Katy Perry ft. Juicy J

Prism_cover

Thank you Katy for knocking down Timber a peg. I still love this song although I definitely haven’t been listening to it as much as I was last week. You go Katy!

2. Timber by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha

I think I already made it expressly clear how much I dislike this song last week so I won’t go into it again. Definitely still hate it.

3. Say Something by A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera

a-great-big-world-say-something-cover

Love this song. One of my favorite love songs. Also, I’ve found it’s a good song to do my readings to. Very peaceful and calming. Love it!

4. Counting Stars by OneRepublic

220px-OneRepublic_Counting_Stars

Speaking of songs to add to my “Study” playlist, this one’s a goodie. It’s a little more upbeat than “Say Something” but it’s still a pretty chill song. I love it.

5. Let Her Go by Passenger

Let-her-go-by-passenger

Okay I might just make a new playlist out of these songs. This is such a soft, relaxing song (despite the kind of sad lyrics). Definitely a song I’ll be listening to while I lay on my bed, flipping through my reading, and bopping my head along to the music. Love it.

6. Pompeii by Bastille

Bastille-Pompeii-2013-1200x1200

Finally, a new one on the list. Truthfully, this isn’t really my type of music. This is definitely a song I wouldn’t have listened to of my own volition but I like it. It’s different but good. I’ve never heard of Bastille but they’re an Alternative music group made up of four guys (two of which are very attractive by the way) and they sound great. I like the vocals and the lyrics sound kind of trippy to me. When I hear it I can just imagine someone closing their eyes and dancing around in the grass, swaying their arms around. Either way, I enjoy it. I might not put it in my iTunes library but I won’t change the station if it comes on the radio.

7. Team by Lorde

lorde-team-600x600

Another new edition to the list, Lorde has gotten another single onto the top 10. This song sounds like “Royals” transformed into a love song. She’s still talking about “living in a city you’ll never see on screen” but now it’s not about being with her friends but having a partner on the team with her. I think the song is cute and for a 17-year old girl, pretty deep. I love it.

8. The Monster by Eminem ft. Rihanna

Eminem-The-Monster-2013-1500x1500

Still loving this song but it’s getting to the point where it’s starting to get annoying which may be evident by it’s tiny drop on the list. We’ll see if it still makes it on the top 10 next week.

9. Story of My Life by One Direction

one-direction-story-of-my-life-lyrics

Still loving it. I don’t listen to it often and it’s not in my iTunes so I’m clearly not obsessed with it but I like it. I think it’s a cute, typical One Direction song.

10. The Man by Aloe Blacc

the man

Another new addition to the list. Aloe Blacc has been around a while apparently but he’s new to me. I like him. He sounds great and I can just imagine him singing this to me and I love it. He reminds of Mario a little in “Let Me Love You” because he’s basically telling a woman he will be there for her, always, and she can let everyone know because it’s true. I love it. Adding to my iTunes now.

Now that I’ve given my opinions on these songs, let me know what you think by voting for your favorite song of this week. Thanks!
