Iggy Azalea, a relatively newcomer to the Hip-Hop/Rap game, released the music video to her newest single, “Fancy” featuring another newcomer, Charli XCX, who’s most well known for featuring on Icona Pop’s song, “I Love It”.
Iggy draws from the classic 1995 film, Clueless, where Iggy plays the main character, Cher. The video is heavily focused around this theme, starting the video with the same type of opening credits and basing all the costume designs on costumes worn in the film, including Cher’s well known yellow, all-plaid outfit. However, the video still keeps it modern, including the use of iPads (where Iggy picks out her Cher-like outfit) and the use of iPhones rather than the classic flip phones used in the film.
